Phases

From Wireframe to App

The road from a wireframe and/or prototype to the actual app delivery involves iterative development cycles to reach major agreed app milestones, following the Agile development methodology. At the end of this cycle, Polymash delivers all the agreed upon app’s functionality and the core software necessary ready for upload to one or more app market places.

Project Planning, Content and Asset Preparation

Building on the preparatory work in strategy setting and design phases, a project plan is developed with resource allocation, milestones and review cycles. Polymash and the client work together to gather and produce required graphic design assets and components.

App Design, Wireframing and Prototyping

Depending on the number of agreed features and milestones, additional functionality is gradually added to the initial working prototype. The client is part of the ongoing review cycles to provide feedback. Please visit our App Design Pages to read more about our design process

Technical Framework Selection

To meet the client’s goals and requirements, we select the technical delivery frameworks for configuring and setting up the app production cycle. We support a range of app back-end strategies, and, where possible, will work with our clients to integrate the app with their existing back-ends or websites.

Iterative Feature Development

Following basic Agile methodology, we work with our clients to establish a feature set that gets developed in logical groups once the core app framework has been delivered. Iterative cycles clear the feature backlog in prioritized order, which also allows us to stay on schedule and budget. Testing of the app will occur in cycles during the delivery of each milestone.

App Store Submission

Where relevant, App Store submissions require careful preparation of app promotional descriptions, iconography, categorization, app store keywording etc.

How much does an app cost?

We help our clients select the most cost effective approach to app design in a manner that is strategic, extendable and meets their budgetary needs.

That said, asking this is a little like asking how much a house costs. There are a wide range of app development solutions available, but quality apps with great user experience, native feel, quality design and cool interfaces cannot be developed for a few hundred dollars.

Cost vs Monetization

Top of the line games and apps can cost 100′s of thousand dollars, digital publishing project run in the 10′s of thousand dollars, and even the most basic apps run in the thousands to conceptualize, design, develop and market on the app stores. How much your own app concept will cost to realize depends on the nature of your requirements, and is only part of an overall ROI formula that includes monetization strategies, sponsorship, advertising, app sales and in-app downloads.
